Tebori 手彫り is a traditional Japanese tattooing technique (手= hand, 彫る= carve). Some time ago we mentioned that a new artist joined or team — Nishi does traditional Japanese designs (wabori) the way they were done in the old times. He makes his own tools and most designs are free-hand. Last Friday he did this traditional Japanese guardian lion (karajishi) paired with a peony. Tebori tattoos take longer than machine tattoos, but apparently they hurt less (according to people, who got tebori done). We offer assistance in English, so if you have any questions regarding getting a tebori tattoo at our studio — don’t hesitate to ask!
I’m interested in getting a small tebori tattoo on the back of my arm above my elbow that says “一期一会”. Is it possible to do a walk-in sometime this week? How much would it cost?
Hello! Sorry for the slow reply. I’m afraid we didn’t see your comment here. The price would depend on the size of the tattoo, but if it’s small it would likely be 10,000 yen. 🙂
